The pride of Manchester, New Hampshire, Mike Flanagan brought sharp wit and a devastating curve ball to a competitive Baltimore franchise whose salaries were dwarfed in the wake of free agency. This left-handed fielder’s glove was used and signed by Flanagan during the 1977 campaign. The Wilson “A2000” leather accessory shows solid game use and is autographed on the last finger (interior) in ballpoint (“6” strength). LOA from Mike Flanagan. More on our website.

Evidence of game use includes multiple scuff marks throughout, as well as wear and soiling about the pocket and webbing. Flanagan’s number “46” is inscribed on the outside, next to the manufacturer’s embroidered “W” logo. The 25-year-old southpaw went 15-10 for a 1977 club that won 97 games and remained in the pennant chase until the final weekend of the season. This glove appears to match the one Flanagan is wearing in his 1978 Topps Baseball #341 card.

A handwritten LOA on period Baltimore Orioles letterhead (which does not list the 1979 pennant and definitely pre-dates that year) reads:

Well fella’s this is the best I can do – This is my game glove from 1977 -
Best of Luck
(signed) Mike Flanagan
