Having already garnered the respect of teammates and opponents with his all-time best .426 batting mark in 1901, Napoleon Lajoie was to be forever revered in the upstart American League. During his tenure as player/manager in Cleveland, the team’s name was changed from “Bronchos” to “Naps” in Lajoie’s honor. While his batting skills were among the most perfect, so is this Lajoie autograph. Encapsulated with autograph Graded GEM MT 10 by PSA/DNA, Lajoie’s blue ballpoint penning and inscription of “3/4/47” are deserving of the lofty assessment.
