Description


Deserving of his Hall of Fame induction (albeit late) with matching career numbers for batting average (.309) and triples (309), Wahoo, Nebraska native Sam Crawford was the author of the bold autograph and inscribed legend on this 5x3 index card. Executed in green ink, Crawford’s signature (signed “Wahoo Sam Crawford”) projects (“9-10”) strength and clarity. In his own hand, Crawford has penned entries for typewritten headings. The inscriptions include:

”Election To Hall of Fame 1957”

”Outfield”

”Cincinnati 1901-2"
”Detroit 1903-17”
