Description


Spared from the minor leagues for fear that bush league mentors would toy with his unique and lethal plate approach, Mel Ott used the friendly dimensions of the Polo Grounds in his successful pursuit of 511 career round-trippers. This 3-1/2 x 5-1/2” black-and-white photo is signed by Ott (d.1958). With mounting remnants on the reverse, the keepsake presents nicely and is signed by Ott in black-ink fountain pen (“9” strength).
