“Ty Cobb is a bone-headed base-runner”—Lou Criger 3/27/09 Sporting Life. Before a capacity crowd at Bennett Park in Detroit during the 1909 season, Ty Cobb eluded a tag from St. Louis nemesis Lou Criger and notched another run for the homestanding Tigers. The offered black-and-white “Cobb scores from first on a single” picture is framed and matted to 11x9 and portrays the Hall of Famer doing what he knows best…intimidating the competition. The clear action sequence displays moderate surface crazing throughout but is otherwise clean.
